2026 Lingfield Winter All Weather Derby

❖ The 2026 Lingfield Winter Derby will be run today, Saturday, February the 21st.

The 2026 Winter Derby at Lingfield promises to be a tactical affair, with only five runners.

Race jolly Chancellor (5/4) arrives in top order for John and Thady Gosden. Since wind surgery and being gelded, the 4yo has been in decent form, winning at Kempton and Lingfield after a narrow Listed defeat ~ he arguably looks like a more focused performer this winter. Stablemate NEBRAS (4/1) adds real depth to the race after Listed success in the Quebec, and has Ryan Moore in the saddle, so he'll be the one I'm on.

Boiling Point (7/2) is a notable contender as he steps into the unknown over a mile and a quarter. The Cambridgeshire winner impressed over 1m 1f last time and has reportedly been working well alongside last years winner Royal Champion. The extra furlong and limited all weather experience are definite questions to answer, but the yard are optimistic he’ll see out the trip.

The consistent mare Sky Safari (6/1) seeks compensation for a head defeat in the Winter Oaks.

Military Academy (28/1) completes the line-up but does look a bit up against it this time.
