My attempt to Crack The AW Code At Southwell on this evening's eight race card that features six handicaps.

Southwell Betting Analysis

5:00 Southwell ❖ 5f C6 Hcp ❖ Street Life (14/1) is always relatively competetive in th e bottom grade.

Conclusion: Kavanagh claims 5lb which could be crucial here today. The 14/1 on offer is a reasonable looking play from a speculative low stakes punt level, win only.

7:30 Southwell ❖ 11f C6 Hcp (div 1) ❖ Shielas Well (6/1) is on a handy mark.

Conclusion: I can't tell you whether she's a 7f or an 11f horse. I can tell you she's well handicapped at the moment and is as fit as a flea having her second run of the month for her new yard with Ian Williams. The race looks a tiny bit weak depthwise, even for the C6 level, so I'm expecting her to be right up there today.

8:00 Southwell ❖ 11f C6 Hcp (div 2) ❖ Dash Power (33/1) is way overpriced.

Conclusion: I've backed this one twice on the bounce in conditionals where he lost, but ran somewhat OK and disappointingly at the same time. He's now back in a true handicap, with a decent 5lb claimer in Ryan Kavanagh.

So I can't tell you he should win. I can tell you he's not winning at a massively overpriced 33/1 without a small amount of my dough on him, win lose or draw.
