Inclement Weather Warning: Snow and freezing temperatures have been forecast for the UK over the new year period.

6:17 PM · Jan 4, 2026: A precautionary inspection (9:30am) of the Wolverhampton running surface has been called for the 5th of January monday evening meeting on the All Weather.

[ Official Inspection Message 1 ] >> A precautionary inspection will take place at 9:30am tomorrow morning for our Monday 5th January Racenight due to potential snow and ice forecast overnight. An update will be posted as soon as possible tomorrow morning.

10:24 AM · Jan 5, 2026: A further inspection (11:30am) has been arranged. Low temperature overnight has frozen the track. The slightly warmer weather this morning has meant the track is responding well, so the meeting may be on. Track officials are hopeful the meeting will go ahead.

[ Official Inspection Message 2 ] >> A further inspection will take place at 11:30am this morning after snowfall and low temperatures overnight. The temperature has started to rise and the track has responded well, therefore we remain optimistic at this time.

12:14 PM · Jan 5, 2026: Racing Has Been Called Off for this evening's AW card at Wolverhampton due to frost. The All Weather racing haters will no doubt be out in force.. It's not "All Weather" they will say..

❖ Sandracer Comment >> No ~ racing will not continue during a tornado either. All other meetings were called off long ago.

[ Official Inspection Message 3 ] >> Whilst earlier work on the track was positive, and the air temperature has risen, the ground temperature has not risen and the snow is not melting, so remains suspended within the material therefore we have taken the decision to abandon tonight.
