2025 Cheltenham Festival Previews
Cheltenham Festival 2025
Four Days of Top Jumps Racing
◢ The Cheltenham Festival 2025 runs from Tuesday March 11th to Friday March 14th. The festival is the pride of the National Hunt calendar, this 4 day NH jumping showcase features 28 races, which includes 13 Grade 1 contests.⯇
Day 1 Champion Day - Tuesday, March 11▼
◢ First day the Festival kicks off with Champions Day. Race 1 is the newly named Michael O'Sullivan Supreme Novices Hurdle (1:20). The big race of day 1 is the Champion Hurdle (3:20) ~ Constitution Hill is about 4/7 on atm.
Speed & stamina will be tested all day. The crowd will be as large as it usually is.
The Prestbury Cup battle between Britain and Ireland will be in full flow by the end of the first day. The Irish keep winning ~ will 2025 be any different? Highly doubtful according to the bookies, they're 1/9 on the Irish.⯇
Day 2: Style Wednesday - Wednesday, March 12▼
◢ Fashionstas with Pimms, fancy clothes and fancy hats will be watching the Queen Mother Champion Chase (3:20) from the raucous stands. Jonbon's odds on (8/11 ~ 11/10 in a place), Il Est Francais and Marine Nationale are about 5's. 2 miles of Sprinter Sacre rapid jumping will win it for you.⯇
Day 3: St Patrick’s Thursday - Thursday, March 13▼
◢ The Ryanair Chase (2:40 PM) and Paddy Power Stayers Hurdle (3:20 PM) fight it out for race of the day. You choose. I'll let you know which, dependent on if I catch the winner of either of course.
The Ryanair tests the middle distance chasers, while the Stayers is run over 3 mile, which rewards endurance and a turn of foot at the end up the hill, if you have one. Teahupoo is the Stayers even money fav atm.
The Guinness will be flowing on Paddy's Day for sure. I prefer a Tennents Strong Lager myself. London Council estate stuff 🙃.⯇
Day 4: Gold Cup Day - Friday, March 14▼
◢ The festival climaxes with Gold Cup Day, where the centanarial edition of the Cheltenham Gold Cup (3:20 PM) takes center stage.
The 3m2f big race winner is crowned jump racings ultimate champion. The 1/2 fav Galopin Des Champs, the reigning hero, faces contenders like Banbridge (4/1), with legends like Henrietta Knight calling Galopin a certainty.
Jumps racing at its finest.⯇
