SANDRACER.COM - Mega Wolverhampton AW Card Saturday (lincoln trials)

Mega Wolverhampton AW Card Saturday (lincoln trials)

There are many racing punters and traditionalists who don't like the "sand racing". Various spurious reasons are put forth. 1 is not a ridiculous point though, and that is the standard of racing is poor, due to the lack of prize money on offer.

Tommorrow at the Wolverhampton All Weather Racetrack there is a 10 race bumper card on offer. William Hill Lincoln trial day to be exact.

3 of the races are of a decent fare, where the prize money is good, the runners are decent and there is form readable by anyone who enjoys racing. The 2:25 and the 3:35 are live on terrestrial TV via Channel 4 Racing

Any moaners about tomorrow's Wolverhampton Dunstall Park racecard probably won't read this post, because they'll be wading through all the jumps form and the myriad of runners that pulled up last time out.

Wolverhampton's 10 Race Card

Race 1 - the 2.25 is a 7f class 1 listed race.
Race 2 - the 3.00 is a 7f class 4 handicap.
Race 3 - the 3.35 is a 1.5 mile class 2 heritage handicap.
Race 4 - the 4.10 is a 5f class 5 handicap.
Race 5 - the 4.45 is a 6f class 2 handicap.
Race 6 - the 5.20 is a 1.5 mile maiden.
Race 7 - the 5.50 is a 1m6f class 4 handicap.
Race 8 - the 6.20 is a 6f claimer.
Race 9 - the 6.50 is a 5f class 5 sprint handicap.
Race 10 - the 7.20 is a 9.5 f class 6 handicap.

Thats why I stick to the A/W code of racing. I know my results don’t indicate that I have grasped all there is ref: sand racing, but would rather do my nuts on a 46-50 rated handicap than any race at Cheltenham next week.

Don’t get me wrong I am not a A/W bigot and I shall watch the races next week with glee.

BTW: I’m planning to attend the Winter Derby at Lingfield in an effort to get to know course configurations better, anyone who reads this site going?

Yes, the Winter Derby is next saturday.

I had been meaning to do a page on it.

I don't know whether i'll be working next saturday. Lingfield is not especially far away from here.

All that said, i'll probably have a couple of bets at Cheltenham. I think 2 of the days there's no AW code races being run.

The difference is though, is I don't moan about the all-weather killing racing blah blah blah.

A betting opportunity, is a betting opportunity to me. I don't really mind whether it's run on sand, grass, or played on glass.
