Race Overview: In the amateur event that opens the card, Foolish Groom is selected ahead of Music Celebre and Ermine Grey. Foolish Groom is reasonably weighted based on last summer's form and, having shown that he likes soft going, could go well in Warwick's opener. Music Celebre showed that he still has some gas in his lighter with a good third over course and distance last time on good to firm. His old Irish form showed that he likes juice in the going and he too can go well. Agilete has not been running too badly of late but has no soft-ground form, while Ermine Grey has certainly dropped to a mark from which he ought to be able to win and, again, soft going will hold no fears. Although he lacks a recent run, Band is on the mark from which he scored over a mile on soft at Nottingham in November, while Spring Time Girl comes here on the back of a fair Carlisle reappearance run and could well get involved. Of the others, Fateful Attraction could improve for today's easier going, Monashee River has dropped to a very fair mark but lacks soft-ground form, Adobe's latest win came over course and distance last June on good to firm but more-recent efforts have been inauspicious, Hows That is one to watch in the betting and a return to last summer's form would give Bahhmirage claims. Once again, though, the selection is Foolish Groom.

Race Overview: The short list in the fillies' maiden consists of Far Gone, Sinead Of Aiglish and Cute Ass, with the selection being Far Gone. Far Gone has finished second on each start to date, showing fair form in the process and can go well in a bid to make it third-time lucky. The soft ground could well help the cause also. Six career runs have produced four runner-up spots and two thirds for Sinead Of Aiglish and she holds solid claims of again running well, having caught a couple of good ones in her last two starts. Cayman Fox hasn't really built on a good Haydock run of three outings ago although she has displayed some promise, while Cute Ass showed promise when third in a seven-runner Carlisle maiden on her debut. Eye Catching has hinted at ability, while Lady Of Kintyre showed promise in finishing fourth on her Redcar debut and is entitled to improve on that. Once again, though, the selection is Far Gone.

Race Overview: In the fillies' handicap, Millachy is favoured over Metal Guru and Wadnagin. Kerrin McEvoy teaming up with Barry Hills to ride Millachy looks interesting to us and she could prove to be the answer to this fillies' handicap. Facing soft going for the first time, which on breeding could well suit, the daughter of Kyllachy has shown promise in two of her three starts and starts handicap life on a very reasonable rating, we feel. Metal Guru has shown promise on each start and the step up in trip today could see her go well from her current rating. Princess Ellis is proving consistent and provides the benchmark to the form for you. Wadnagin comes right into things following two very good handicap runs, although she is unproven on soft going, while Swift Princess has knocked at the door in her last two starts and might go well, although her one soft-ground run - her debut effort - was modest. Of the others, Aaron's Way's best run so far has come on soft going, while Stormburst is one that could improve for the ease in going and Mujart holds claims based on bits of form. Once again, though - although the market might say something different - the vote goes to Millachy.

Race Overview: Scotland The Brave gets nominated as the selection here ahead of Valentino Swing and Marshman. Frankie Dettori's booking for Scotland The Brave, a confirmed mud-lover, looks interesting and the mare can go well from a mark that is still fairly reasonable in the context of this race, we feel. A course and distance winner on soft going from a three-pounds lower mark in October, Valentino Swing could go well here, particularly if a break has freshened him up. Luckylover has it to prove on Turf from his current rating. Remarkably, Councellor has yet to race on soft going, while Sensuous, a soft-ground Chepstow winner last May, may need his first outing in nearly a year. Barons Spy was narrowly beaten from today's mark at Haydock two runs ago, although that run came on good to firm and, even though he acts on good to soft, he has no soft-ground form. Marshman showed signs of a revival at Goodwood last time and there's no doubt that he is on a good mark based on 2005 form. Ochre Bay's Turf form of the last two years has lacked panache, while Doctor's Cave has proven a revelation on the all-weather recently since being stepped up to seven furlongs, although his soft-ground form is not impressive. Once again, then, the vote goes to Scotland The Brave.

Race Overview: Portal, Dont Dili Dali and Abhisheka form the short list for the feature race, with the selection being Abhisheka. The three short-listed runners are rated the best of these on official assessments. Abhisheka showed a liking for soft going when winning two handicaps last summer and she has since run with great credit at Listed level and, indeed, in Group class. She gets our vote. Dont Dili Dali, an all-weather Listed winner last season, finished ahead of her in the Dahlia Stakes at Newmarket in May, although today's conditions might suit the selection better. Enforce finished sixth in the same contest. Mango Mischief won this race last season and a return to that level of form would see her go well, and Portal also gets a solid shout based on her Group 3 Listed placing at York on good to soft last time, although she is said to prefer faster going. Also, she comfortably holds Dash To The Front based on Goodwood Listed form of last August, although that run did come on good to firm going. Of the others, Queens Best will like the going but needs to improve on the form she has so far shown if she is to feature. All of which returns us to the selection, which is Abhisheka.

Race Overview: In the finale, Sovietta is selected ahead of Elopement and Moonshine Creek. High Class Problem is back to a winning mark from last summer but is unproven on soft going. A falling mark and a step up in trip are likely to see Bold Cross in a better light today but, once again, the question is will the going suit? The going will suit Sovietta, though, and she is now just three pounds above her winning mark of last May so she should be considered this evening. Elopement now races from four pounds above a winning mark but looks capable of getting involved in some way, while Moonshine Creek has been running well of late and, still only lightly raced, could have even better to come. Finally, Twinned takes a big step up in trip today, having won two races - both at five furlongs - and Justcallmehandsome could be given a squeak based on his best pieces of soft-ground form. Overall, though, the vote stays with Sovietta.
