Southwell AW Code Breaker

My attempt to Crack The AW Code At Southwell on this evening's 9 race card that features 6 handicaps, one is a 2yo nursery hcp, in as few words as possible.

❖ Jockeys ❖ This evening I'll be studying all of the Hector Crouch (𝕏) rides. He's come with what looks like a double handful to me, with 8 rides. There will be a winner or two to be had from those.

❖ Draw Bias ❖ The draw bias at Southwell is non existent. Back who you like wherever they're drawn. If backing any front runners, pay close attention to whether you think they have the ability to actually get home up the slightly uphill 1.5f finish.

Southwell Betting Analysis

5:00 Southwell ❖ 1m C6 Hcp ❖ Mapledurham (8/1) wasn't far away last time up.

Conclusion: The application of blinkers and the booking of Hector Crouch could well bring about the improvement needed to nick this basement handicap. Went well for a long way last time out. I think the stable learned a bit from that run and have taken the chance on the Tapeta for the first time for a reason. Backed down from 14's btw.


5:00 South ~ Win Bet: 8/1 Mapledurham (Unp 11/1)

5:30 Southwell ❖ 1m C6 Hcp ❖ Amber Honey (8/1) has every chance.

Conclusion: Competes in these type of races well enough to warrant an interest at the price with Hector Crouch doing the steering for the first time.


7:15 South ~ Win Bet: 8/1 Amber Honey (Won 13/2)

6:30 Southwell ❖ 6f C4 Hcp ❖ Stanley Spencer (5/1) is a worthy fav.

Conclusion: C&D winner from a 2lb lower mark last time here, winning well by a couple of lengths. Will be right there again.

7:00 Southwell ❖ 2m C4 Hcp ❖ New York Minute (13/2) can defy a 12lb penalty.

Conclusion: Jogged up by 14l in a C6 over the C&D. Upped 12lb by the capper, will it stop him from taking this C4? I think not. I'd not want to give you 2/1, so I'll take the 13/2 all day long.
