Cracking The Southwell AW Code

❖ Tuesday October 7 2025

Southwell AW Code Breaker

My attempt to crack the AW code at Southwell on this evening's 8 race card that features 6 handicaps, two of those are fillies only, and two 2yo novice stake races races, in as few words as possible.

❖ Jockeys ❖ The youngster Harry Davies (26%) is the jockey I will be focusong on this evening. Additionally, Sean Levey (𝕏) (23%) rides Southwell well. Both jockeys have a win strike rate this season of over 20% on the Southwell Tapeta course.

❖ Draw Bias ❖ The draw bias at Southwell is non existent. Back who you like wherever they're drawn. If backing any front runners, pay close attention to whether they'll actually get home up the slightly uphill 1.5f finish.

6:00 Southwell ❖ 7f C5 Hcp ❖ Whizz By (4/1f) drops down 2 grades today.

Conclusion: Back in a C5, under Sean Levey who won on her previously over the C&D, she'll be running past everything late on I feel.


6:00 South ~ Win Bet: 4/1 Whizz By (Unp 7/2)

6:30 Southwell ❖ 1m C4 Hcp ❖ Unico (10/1) won well last time under Harry Davies.

Conclusion: In good form and looks the main danger to the hot fav. The 10/1 on offer is twice what it should be in my opinion.


6:30 South ~ Win Bet: 10/1 Unico (4th 10/1)

7:00 Southwell ❖ 5f C6 Hcp ❖ She Went Whoosh (12/1) has won this type of race before for Hannon.

Conclusion: Hinted at a return to form last time out. If on song today, is way overpriced at 12/1 generally ~ 14's in places.

8:00 Southwell ❖ 1m 3f C6 Hcp ❖ Major Major (9/2) is nicely handicapped at about 10lb below his best.

Conclusion: Should be 5/2f with Levey aboard. The 9/2 on offer will not last long I suspect.
