8:00 3yo Son Of Man (12/1) is down 10lb from 95 to 85 in the space of 3 races on the turf, twice on heavy, once on the soft. Ground which he can run on no problem, judging by his 2yo form.

However, the switch to the AW for the first time, plus the drop in grade to a C4, has certainly caught my eye. I've seen it all before.

I'll take the double figure odds on offer and see if trainer Jim Boyle pulls it off from his new training facilities, which I suspect he will.

Albasheer hacks up on debut at Doncaster



3:48 Albasheer (10/1) over the straight 6f at Newcastle, with Luke Morris aboard today, looks about twice the price he should be in my book.

He'll get a prominent position just to the left of the leaders coming from stall 11, then he'll pounce with a furlong to go at decent odds.

I'll be able to bet on and watch an AW race on ITV with a cup of tea in hand. Quite a rarity. Cheers, Sandracer.

5/1 Shot Riot Wins @ Chelmsford



6:00 Topweight Riot (10/1) looks weighted to be in the shake up at the end of tonight's 7f C3 hcp at Chelmsford this evening. His mark of 82 is usually around where he wins his races at. He actually won this fixture last season carrying exactly 82.

The drift from an early odds quote of 7/2 and 4/1, out to the currently available 10/1, make him a reasonable betting opportunity. Cheers, Sandracer.

Dutch Kingdom Wins Well @ Chelmsford



7:00 Dutch Kingdom (10/1) won well enough last time up over the Chelmsford 6f, to suggest to me he can overcome the 6lb rise in the weights.

The 9/2 tissue price and 11/2 overnight price looks about right to me. The 10/1 on offer after drifting all day makes him a reasonable bet.


8:00 Dashing Harry (10/1) is another recent winner who can overcome a penalty at decent odds. He won with a bit in hand and the slight rise in class shouldn't be a problem from what I saw.

Again, I make the 4/1 tissue and 9/2 early odds look on the money. The 10/1 drift makes for an interesting punt, cheers, Sandracer.

7:15 Tango Sunset (25/1) is definitely a shot from the left field. She's a lightly raced filly, who is significantly up in trip from 12 to 16f tonight.

She's been dropped 7lb by the grader in 3 races, and Jack Doughty takes the ride claiming 5lb. It doesn't look a strong race for the grade either.

Down from 40's to 25/1, less weight, slower race, I am betting she improves enough formwise to be in the shake up over the marathon distance.

6:15 3yo Bellarchi (11/1) hasn't been running so well lately. On the face of it, this represents a drop in class. Her mark of 83 is a winning one in the past too. I thought she ran ok last time up also.

The last time she ran on the AW she won. At the price available and her current mark, allied to the drop in grade, I think it's worth taking the chance a return to the AW will see an improvement in her performance today.

As a side note I see she was offered up at 25's by a couple of firms overnight. Really? Really really? Well the biggest I've seen struck on the exchanges is 14/1, so make up your own mind how much 25's they laid..
