♠ The Southwell meeting for today (saturday, march 3, 2007) has been abandoned due to a waterlogged track. David Williams, the clerk of the course had planned a 7.30am Southwell track inspection, but brought forward the inspection and called off the meeting because of very heavy overnight rain.

David Williams said: "We had 12 millimetres of rain overnight and the course is currently waterlogged.

We could have coped with three to four millimetres after two days of drying weather but the rain we got has just tipped the balance.

We have had six and a half inches of rain since the beginning of the year and the ground is saturated."

♠ Tomorrow (sunday, march 4, 2007) there are no all-weather horse racing meetings to be run. I'll be taking the time off to peruse the Cheltenham Festival possibles.

♠ On monday (monday, march 5, 2007) I will be busy busy, because there are 2 all-weather meetings. 1 at Wolverhampton and 1 at Lingfield, both Polytrack surfaces.
