7:30 Thaki (No Bet) ran 2nd at 40's the other day for me. I've been awaiting his reappearance. Today he goes to Wolverhampton, not the straight Newcastle AW. Now 14/1, same 6f, same jockey, same mark, dropped a grade from 4 to 5. Problem is he has to overcome being drawn 8 of 12 and get around that bend in touch. If he gets a flier he can win from trap 8. Can't see it personally. No Bet.

8:00 Nelson Gay (12/1) will be highly tried in this grade 3, 5f Hcp. However, there are only 6 other runners, hopefully less jostling, and he gets weight for his apparent current lack of ability, which I debate. He's jogged a 6f G3 Hcp before, trouncing his rivals carrying half a stone more. Ridden prominently by Clutterbuck, as he has done before, he can trouble these at a double figure price.
