Million Pound Boost For All Weather Racing

The 2013 All Weather Championships receiving a £million prize money injection won't please the racing traditionalists much, but they'll be betting on the sandracing when the weather gets grim nonetheless. Well, more now. Better horses will be running due to the increased prizes on offer. Less grade 6 handicaps will be run no doubt.

Jim Allen, racing director at ARC, said: "Developing the championships has been a combined effort and we are very grateful to our partners, Ladbrokes, Coral, 32Red and Bookmakers.co.uk for joining us in this new initiative for British all-weather racing. At The Races will also be supporting the entire series with extensive coverage of the all-weather championships."

♣ Sandracer comment: Might even be that a few more all weather punters/enthusiasts will come by here more often. Personally, I won't be betting on it.

All good either way.
