Race Overview: The opener looks to be a match between Star Of Rosanna and Gaspar Van Wittel and we just give the edge to the latter. Star Of Rosanna was a soft ground debut scorer over 6f at Leicester. Connections have clearly decided that the filly needs more experience before handicapping and she should certainly be competitive here, again over the same trip. However, preference is for Gaspar Van Wittel who showed a fair bit of speed to land a 5f maiden here last month, and who raced as if this trip would see him to even better effect. Clearly going the right way, he can follow up. Nestor Protector won an egg and spoon race on debut and was exposed last time and with the other pair looking unlikely winners we take Gaspar Van Wittel to come home in front.

Race Overview: A typically ordinary claimer where Mick Is Back looks the pick and gets the nod ahead of Colonel Cotton, Mannello and Savile's Delight. The selection is well weighted when considering official ratings and handles any ground, which is a big plus with rain forecast. This trip looks ideal and the gelding is in good form and can confirm that here. Colonel Cotton was not far away at Brighton over a mile last time. He has not won for four years now and needs fast ground, so if the rains come he is likely to extend that losing run. Mannello was flattered by the margin of defeat at Salisbury last time out but meets nothing of that calibre here and looks likely to put up a good performance, while Savile's Delight looks a frame possibility and last year's winner Full Spate is not out of it off a 6lb lower mark. However Mick Is Back is in good nick and can go in again.

Race Overview: A weak contest where the market and trainers who do well in this sphere look to be our most informative guides and we take Nimra to get the better of Baba Ganouge and Ashmal. The selection is proven over this trip, finishing runner-up three times over it last year, and in the context of this race showing very decent form in the process. True, she is a bit of a one pacer and she was hammered at york on her reappearance, but this is not nearly as tough and she is given one more chance. Baba Ganouge has only two runs to her name but the latter was one of promise, and this extra quarter of a mile should be right up her street, so she is very much respected. Ashmal is another who showed her first reals signs of ability last time out at Salisbury and with her yard flying it would be no surprise to see her go close. Others to note here are Sadler's Leap and debutante Boekenhoutskloof, especially is the rains arrive, but our vote goes to Nimra.

Race Overview: Augustine gets the vote over Dove Cottage, Generous Lad, Olimpo and Montchara. Augustine has shaped well on each of his last two starts, at Beverley and Leicester, and looks primed for a good run here. Peter Hiatt's charge was a bit keen last time, but is well handicapped and is expected to give a good account. Dove Cottage was successful in this event last year, and in fact has won three of his four races at the Welsh track. There were excuses for his defeat on his Nottingham reappearance, as by all accounts he suffered a slight injury, but he is all set to go well now, despite being 5lb higher than 12-months ago. Generous Lad has been a model of consistency, and could well reach the frame again, while Olimpo was touched off in a close finish at Windsor and is on a retrieval mission. Montchara left the money in the bookies' satchels last time, and is another to add to the mix, and in an open affair, we look to Augustine as the answer.

Race Overview: Ceredig gets the vote over Expensive Art, with Turkish Sultan and Toms Laughter not entirely out of it. This could be a wise move by connections in dropping Ceredig back to six furlongs, as the four-year-old blazed the trail for most of the way over Lingfield's mile before fading last time. He returns to Turf not badly treated, and with William Carson taking off a valuable 7lb, he is taken to make all on the stands side from his high draw. Expensive Art has been withdrawn from intended engagements on a few occasions, and now makes his handicap debut off what could be a fair mark, while Turkish Sultan in contrast has topweight but Milton Bradley gets his share of winners here. Toms Laughter makes a quick return after his defeat three days ago, and Cathy Gannon will be keen to do well for Bryn Palling, for whom she has been riding out lately. An open handicap then, with Ceredig the selection.

Race Overview: An open finale and punters will need their wits about them however the main protagonists appear to be Fealeview Lady and Guilded Warrior and the vote goes to Fealeview Lady. The selection only went down by three parts of a length on his turf debut recently having put in a series of consistent efforts on the all-weather. Assuming that this quicker ground poses no problems, Hughie Morrison's filly can win against her older rivals. Moon Forest warrants respect as a course and distance winner but was well held last time out and needs to step up on that effort although this smaller field may suit. Red Rudy should come on for his recent run behind The Gaikwar, whilst Neon Blue takes a drop in grade which means that he has a decent chance. Gilded Warrior steps up in trip again but his best runs have come over six furlongs, and so we will return to Fealeview Lady as the selection.
