RACE COMMENTARY
I’m going to oppose Appalachian Trail as I feel his best form requires a straight track and strong pace. With Babodana the only one injecting any pace in this race, he wont be able to cut through the field in the final furlong as other horses weaken.
To oppose I going to side with Very Wise who had excuses last time “reportedly vet said gelding had an irregular heartbeat” to recoup my punt from that race.
Ominously, Very Wise is drifting on the exchanges which may be an indication that all is not well. So, in preparation for a further drifting i.e. no bet (or declaration as a non runner) my tissue indicates a speculative punt on Raptor who has run well in better events than this one however; ability on the all weather surface has to be taken on trust but factored into his price.

I was all over Piccolo Diamante until he was put in as the jolly by the racing post. Just as well as I did have a nagging doubt about his stamina to get the trip at a course that favours prominent runners (his pace profile indicates hold up performer).
In an open race where the majority of runners like to be "held up", I’ll side with relatively unexposed and prominent Emily´s Rainbow but in the context of this low-grade affair, anything could win!
