Race Counts For 4/1+ Offer.
Race Overview: A tight handicap on paper can go to El Dececy over a whole host of dangers including Veracity, Philanthropy, Yossi and Six Day War to name but a few. Not much separates most of the principals here, but El Dececy impressed with the manner of his victory in a Pontefract maiden last time, making all under Martin Dwyer. Plunged into a handicap for the first time, he may be not badly treated, and if getting into a rhythm up front, can prove difficult to peg back. Veracity lines up on the back of a Wolverhampton maiden success, and also goes handicapping. He has more to do but could be an improver. Mark Johnston had a whole host of entries for this, and so the fact that he relies on Philanthropy is interesting. He failed to give his true showing in the Listed Zetland Stakes here, and on breeding will have no problem with the trip or ground. The form of Yossi's second to Spice Route has already been franked at York, and this one-time Derby hope is sure to be a popular choice as well, while Six Day War is reported to have done a sparkling piece of work on Thursday. Spiderback and Stringsofmyheart both have winning form to add to the equation, but the pin comes down on El Dececy.
