Golden Quest looked to have a bright future in the staying department when narrowly beaten in the 2005 Goodwood Cup, but was then sidelined with a bad knee injury, causing him to miss out the whole of last year. Connections have been patient with him, and have not aimed him too high yet, and he will be all the better for a comeback third in Listed company at Musselburgh. With trip and ground to suit, Golden Quest can start to make up for lost time. If Baddam lines up after his exertions in the Gold Cup on Thursday, then he can prove troublesome. A dual-winner at last year's Royal meeting, he may not be up to Cup class just yet, but has the talent to score at this level that is for sure. Madiba was beaten at Folkestone six-days ago, hardly an eye-catching prep, but he was staying on at the end, while Enjoy The Moment makes a quick return after his unfortunate outing in Tuesday's Ascot Stakes. Badly hampered by Melpomene when making ground on the home turn, he will be staying on from the back under Jamie Osborne, and can reach the frame at least, while of the rest, Junior is weighted to reverse earlier form round here with Ned Ludd in the race won by Princelet. However, they all face a tall order in trying to stop Golden Quest from realising his undoubted potential.

No Silk Form Horse/Trainer Jockey Previous Odds Odds

1
(8) 5370-27 Baddam
M R Channon I Mongan 5/2 5/2 Bet
2
(15) 4335/05- Barati
B N Pollock V Slattery 66/1 Bet
3
(17) 7052/55- Corrib Eclipse
Ian Williams R L Moore 16/1 Bet
5
(10) 15-5606 Flame Creek
E J Creighton T Quinn 100/1 Bet
6
(9) 212/06-3 Golden Quest
M Johnston J Fanning 11/4 11/4 Bet
7
(12) 8/55921- Hue
B Ellison T Eaves 40/1 28/1 Bet
8
(7) 4-04232 Madiba
P Howling J H Bowman 250/1 Bet
9
(16) 14064/4 Mith Hill
Ian Williams Jim Crowley 20/1 Bet
10
(11) 1 Secret Ploy
H Morrison J Fortune 10/1 8/1 Bet
12
(2) 0/6-1187 Vanishing Dancer
K J Burke D P McDonogh 200/1 Bet
13
(3) 253569- Vinando
C R Egerton L Dettori 5/1 11/2 Bet
14
(4) 265-030 Enjoy The Moment
J A Osborne J P Spencer 6/1 Bet
16
(5) 6200-22 Ned Ludd
J G Portman E Ahern 14/1 Bet
17
(14) 0-34238 Noddies Way
J F Panvert Liam Jones 150/1 Bet
Favourite SP Bet
2nd Favourite SP Bet

Non Runners:
Dark Parade
Sirnando
Junior

Bet365 Early Odds Betting Page Archive
<...

Bet365 Early Odds Betting Page Archive

5.00 Royal Ascot//
Each-way 1/4 1-2-3
1m 4f Handicap Flat
Best Odds Guaranteed on all races.

Race Overview: Rayhani can continue on an upward curve, with Ogee, Scriptwriter and Cedar Mountain just a few more with claims. Marcus Tregoning is hopeful that Rayhani can go on to make his mark in Listed company at least in time, and is extremely hopeful that the son of Theatrical can follow up what was an impressive Newmarket comeback success. A rise of 9lb is not prohibitive given the likely improvement, and he should make a bold bid before having a crack at something like the Northumberland Plate. As long as the rain stays away, he commands the utmost respect. Ogee is also pencilled in for the Plate, and should now be spot on as he bids to turn the tables on Cedar Mountain who was a place ahead of him at Kempton. In truth though, both need to raise their game, and a bigger threat to the selection may well be yet another Plate entry Scriptwriter who scraped home in Listed company at Hamilton, but who has a lot more to offer, given that he is lightly-raced for a five-year-old. The market should be noted for the the likes of Futan and Strategic Mount, but Rayhani should prove hard to peg back.

No Silk Form Horse/Trainer Jockey Previous Odds Odds

1
(8) 070108 Luberon
M Johnston J Fanning 33/1 Bet
2
(5) 211/17-1 Scriptwriter
Saeed bin Suroor L Dettori 9/2 Bet
4
(4) 3265-42 Bandama
Mrs A J Perrett Jim Crowley 16/1 20/1 Bet
6
(13) 5-83240 Nakheel
M Johnston R Hills 12/1 Bet
7
(17) 4635-26 Solent
R Hannon R Hughes 20/1 Bet
8
(12) 43/213-9 Hitchcock
A P O'Brien M J Kinane 7/1 Bet
10
(9) 7-81368 Weightless
N P Littmoden J Doyle 80/1 Bet
11
(7) 127-005 Futun
L M Cumani J P Spencer 8/1 Bet
13
(10) 5/70-534 Acropolis
I Semple T Eaves 40/1 Bet
14
(18) 3110-94 Ogee
Sir Michael Stoute K McEvoy 5/1, 9/2 4/1 Bet
15
(15) 30317-2 Mikao
M H Tompkins Saleem Golam 14/1 Bet
16
(2) 44165-0 Pevensey
J J Quinn G Gibbons 10/1 8/1 Bet
17
(19) 070-280 Kings Quay
J J Quinn J H Bowman 33/1 Bet
18
(11) 213 Cedar Mountain
J H M Gosden J Fortune 7/1 8/1 Bet
19
(14) 122449 Eva Soneva So Fast
J L Dunlop J Quinn 50/1 Bet
Favourite SP Bet
2nd Favourite SP Bet

Non Runners:
Dont Dili Dali
Rayhani
King's Head
Strategic Mount

Bet365 Early Odds Betting Page Archive
<...

Bet365 Early Odds Betting Page Archive

4.25 Royal Ascot//
Each-way 1/4 1-2-3-4-5
6f Enhanced Place Terms.
Best Odds Guaranteed on all races.

Race Overview: In the belief that the winner will emerge from those drawn high, a chance is taken with Intrepid Jack over the likes of Ripples Maid, Beckermet and Knot In Wood, while Hogmaneigh and Zidane can come out with credit on the stands side. Hughie Morrison landed the Wokingham 12-months ago with Baltic King, and saw Intrepid Jack finish an honourable 10th. Since then the five-year-old has been very consistent, and was somewhat unlucky in Listed company at Sandown last time, being hampered early on before finishing second to Dazed And Amazed. This track will suit, and with a nice high draw in stall 23, he should be well in the shake-up. Ripples Maid lost nothing in defeat to the useful Cartimandua in a fillies and mares Listed race at Haydock a fortnight ago, and is also housed on the far side, as is Beckermet who beat a useful field at Newbury on his last visit to the winner's enclosure. However, that was two years ago, and he has hit the bar plenty of times since. Richard Fahey reckons that Knot In Wood has the class to win a race of this nature, and off a low weight, with first-time blinkers fitted, he is interesting. Epsom winner Hogmaneigh has picked up a 5lb penalty and the draw is a bit of a worry, but he has been well touted, while Zidane has been hiked up 11lb for his impressive victory over the course-and-distance last time. Stablemate Firenze was second to Baltic King in this 12-months ago, and James Fanshawe's charge might also find a Morrison inmate too good in the shape of Intrepid Jack.

No Silk Form Horse/Trainer Jockey Previous Odds Odds

Race Overview: Another treat in store, with Tuesday's King Stand heroine Miss Andretti bidding to double-up, but we shall take her on with Amadeus Wolf, while Takeover Target, Firenze and Asset all command respect. There is no doubting the class of Miss Andretti, who broke yet another course record when scorching home in the King's Stand Stakes, repelling the best that the Brits could offer in the process, and granted she will not be hindered by the step back up to six furlongs. She should hold fellow Aussies Magnus and Takeover Target on recent form, but Kevin Ryan is quietly confident that Amadeus Wolf is back to his very best, and if that is the case, he could be the one to put a dent in the reputation of Lee Freedman's speedball. Winner of the Middle Park Stakes in 2005, Amadeus Wolf found life tough against his elders in all the big sprints such as the July Cup and Nunthorpe last term, but emerged with credit each time. However, he has strengthened up significantly this season judged by his comeback victory in Group 2 company at York, and is ready to run the race of his life today. Firenze found five furlongs too short in the Temple Stakes at Sandown and will relish the return to her best trip, but is up against it in truth, while Asset looked the part in the Abernant Stakes, and lines up fresh after a break. The Stewards Cup winner Bordelescott may go well at a big price, but let's face it, this is a Group 1, and in a race in which another fast time seems assured, we shall pin our hopes on Amadeus Wolf to stop the runaway train that is Miss Andretti.

No Silk Form Horse/Trainer Jockey Previous Odds Odds

1
(15) 11211-6 Al Qasi
P W Chapple-Hyam K McEvoy 11/1 9/1 Bet
2
(7) 43235-1 Amadeus Wolf
K A Ryan N Callan 13/2 7/1 Bet
3
(2) 7-41548 Appalachian Trail
I Semple T Eaves 100/1 Bet
4
(14) 284-251 Assertive
R Hannon R L Moore 33/1 Bet
5
(12) 13/192-1 Asset
R Hannon R Hughes 10/1 14/1 Bet
6
(13) 0120-48 Baltic King
H Morrison J Fortune 25/1 Bet
7
(17) 1262-22 Borderlescott
R Bastiman R Ffrench 14/1 Bet
8
(8) 27211-4 Bygone Days
Saeed bin Suroor L Dettori 20/1 Bet
9
(5) 435-386 Fayr Jag
T D Easterby J F Egan 100/1 Bet
10
(21) 1-23413 Magnus
Peter G Moody D M Oliver 11/1 Bet
11
(9) 062-403 Presto Shinko
R Hannon J H Bowman 100/1 Bet
12
(18) 86-7604 Quito
D W Chapman K Darley 100/1 Bet
13
(22) 5519-28 Red Clubs
B W Hills M Hills 25/1 Bet
14
(1) 3411-14 Rising Shadow
T D Barron J Quinn 33/1 Bet
15
(11) 1114/33 Soldier's Tale
J Noseda J Murtagh 18/1 Bet
16
(10) 21-5214 Takeover Target
J Janiak J Ford 8/1 Bet
17
(4) 2381-13 Firenze
J R Fanshawe J P Spencer 18/1 Bet
18
(16) 13-1111 Miss Andretti
L Freedman C Newitt 7/4 Bet
19
(20) 1255-40 Drayton
M F De Kock W M Lordan 150/1 Bet
20
(6) 110-7 Hamoody
P W Chapple-Hyam O Peslier 66/1 Bet
22
(19) 12212-5 Wi Dud
K A Ryan M J Kinane 50/1 Bet
Favourite SP Bet
2nd Favourite SP Bet

Non Runners:
Mastership

Bet365 Early Odds Betting Page Archive
<...

Bet365 Early Odds Betting Page Archive

3.05 Royal Ascot//
Each-way 1/4 1-2
1m 4f.

Race Overview: This promises to be an intriguing tactical clash between Scorpion and Maraahel, with the latter taken to turn the tables, and of the rest, Linas Selection can figure prominently. Last month's Coronation Cup at Epsom proved to be a bit of a farce, with Septimus slowing it down and speeding things up in the lead before stablemate Scorpion pounced to score. Maraahel just could not get into a stride, so in the circumstances did extremely well to get within less than two-lengths of the winner in finishing third. He can now renew rivalry on 5lb better terms, as he escapes a penalty for last year's win in this event, and is fancied to give Sir Michael Stoute a third Hardwick success. The rest are up against it, but anything that Mark Johnston saddles has to be respected given his Royal Ascot record, so Linas Selection is of some interest. Successful in last year's King George V Handicap here, he has not been seen since finishing third in the Gordon Stakes at Goodwood last August, but is sure to be fit and ready. Basically, Maraahel may not be good enough to land a Group 1, but he lines up with plenty going for him at this level and is the pick.

No Silk Form Horse/Trainer Jockey Previous Odds Odds

1
(5) 0/257-21 Scorpion
A P O'Brien M J Kinane 1/1 Bet
2
(8) 1313-52 Admiral's Cruise
B J Meehan J Fortune 8/1 Bet
3
(3) 672473 Akarem
K R Burke N Callan 50/1 Bet
4
(7) 22-2512 Blue Bajan
Andrew Turnell M Hills 10/1 Bet
5
(6) 1-36142 Diamond Quest
A M Balding J H Bowman 25/1 Bet
7
(4) 265-113 Maraahel
Sir Michael Stoute R Hills 9/4 Bet
8
(2) 134232 Mighty
Jane Chapple-Hyam J F Egan 12/1 Bet
Favourite SP Bet
2nd Favourite SP Bet

Non Runners:
Linas Selection

Bet365 Early Odds Betting Page Archive
<...

Bet365 Early Odds Betting Page Archive

2.30 Royal Ascot//
Each-way 1/4 1-2-3
7f Enhanced Place Terms.
Best Odds Guaranteed on all races.

Race Overview: Maze gets the vote in the Chesham, with Feared In Flight, The Bogberry and Double Attack all to be respected. Bryan Smart has been in terrific form on the run-up to Royal Ascot, with his juveniles in particular flying. The fact that he nominates Maze from the wealth of talent at Hambleton House is a pointer in itself, and on the strength of an eye-catching winning debut at Newcastle, he is selected. The step up to seven-furlongs will be in his favour, and indeed he holds an entry in next year's Vodafone Derby. The field is littered with potential dangers though, not least Feared In Flight who created a big impression when storming home at York. Any rain that falls would not bother him, while Naas winner The Bogberry has plenty of scope, but might already need further. Mind you, his stable landed the Coventry on Tuesday so he cannot be discounted. Nor can the filly Double Attack who bolted up on her Hamilton bow and who will be suited by the step up in trip. Golan Knight is another that would probably prefer an even sterner stamina test in time, and in an open contest we shall rely on Maze.

No Silk Form Horse/Trainer Jockey Previous Odds Odds

1
(2) 61 The Bogberry
A P O'Brien J Murtagh 4/1, 9/2 5/1 Bet
2
(12) 4 Azeer
P W Chapple-Hyam J Fortune 14/1 Bet
3
(9) 1 Feared In Flight
B W Hills M J Kinane 2/1 Bet
4
(7) 1 Golan Knight
K A Ryan N Callan 10/1 9/1 Bet
5
(11) Jedediah
A M Balding Nash Rawiller 40/1 Bet
6
(10) 1 Maze
B Smart R Ffrench 7/1, 6/1 5/1 Bet
7
(4) 3 Meydan Dubai
J R Best G Baker 20/1 Bet
8
(5) Pegasus Again
T G Mills L Dettori 20/1 Bet
9
(1) 2 Ramona Chase
S Kirk D P McDonogh 16/1 Bet
10
(6) Resplendent Light
W R Muir K McEvoy 50/1 Bet
11
(3) 5 Scintillo
R Hannon R Hughes 25/1 Bet
12
(8) 1 Double Attack
M Johnston J Fanning 4/1, 9/2 5/1 Bet
Favourite SP Bet
2nd Favourite SP Bet
Non Runners:
