With a wide draw and stamina doubts Istiqdaam should be taken on. Dinner Date and Mister Green are the most likely winners but I’ll keep on eye on Perfect Class and Carlitos Spirit. I don’t like backing horses that have been off the track for a while but the remaining horses can be eliminated from consideration and this is a low grade handicap where anything can and does happen.

Significant non runner in New Leyf who was the likely winner of this race. Perfect Act was in front of him recently, but in reviewing the race video it was clear for all to see that he was flattered for the win as New Leyf was “unlucky in running” in the crucial stages of the race and probably would have won.

Today’s race should boil down to a straight shoot out between Perfect Act and Tiddliwinks (I’ll use them both in a treble perm with other horses on the card) however there is a strong high draw bias over 6f at Kempton and with Methaaly holding stall 8 he may not win but with 8 runners in the race and at likely odds, a 20%/80% win/place bet offers value.

Resplendent Nova has proven stamina over this specialist distance. Prepared to give the stranger Melt a chance against some very dodgy opposition.
