Race Overview: Thunderwing has been given a chance by the handicapper but Karl Burke's gelding is hard to back on recent evidence and a safer bet looks to be Eijaaz, with Monashee River rated the pick of the remainder. The selection lost no caste in defeat behind a back to form Gigs Magic at Catterick earlier this month and should appreciate the drop back in trip to 1m2f so gets the vote to resume winning ways. A market move for Mick Easterby's relatively lightly raced Alsadaa would be of interest, while Terenzium has yet to prove that he stays this far. Penmara comes here fit form hurdling but has shown little worthwhile form over timber so may be best watched on his return to the level. Champagne Shadow may do better now that trainer Kevin Ryan is back among the winners although more solid claims are held by recent Goodwood winner Monashee River. A 6lb penalty for that success may just anchor Vicky Haigh's filly though and preference is for the consistent Eijaaz.

Race Overview: Romantic Destiny, Rockfield Tiger and Balata have all shown promise on their sole racecourse starts but this may go to one of the newcomers with marginal preference for Cross Fell who gets the vote ahead of Muhajaar. The selection is a well bred debutant from the stable of Mark Johnston and may be worth chancing on his debut. Mick Channon's Siberian Tiger is related to a couple of winners and a market move for the son of Xaar would be of interest. Romantic Destiny should do better on the faster ground today than on her debut and has claims with Kevin Ryan back among the winners, while Rockfield Tiger should come on for his Newmarket debut run. Balata should step up on the form of his Windsor run first time out and is another worthy of a mention but Cross Fell makes plenty of appeal on his first start and he gets the vote.

Race Overview: Goodbye probably has the best form among those to have raced previously but Alan Swinbank's filly may prefer a softer surface and this may go to one of the newcomers with the marginal preference for Samira Gold, who gets the vote over Honest Prospector. The last mentioned is an American bred newcomer from the yard of Sir Michael Stoute and has to be respected on his debut under Jamie Spencer. Mark Brisbourne's Annawanna is nicely bred but the yard in not known for their success with newcomers, while Peter Chapple-Hyam's Wells of Badr was well held on her debut and is hard to back with any confidence on that evidence. The vote then goes to Luca Cumani's Samira Gold who is bred to be useful and comes from a yard that is really beginning to hit top form right now.

Race Overview: Trafalgar Day can land the odds here at the expense of Treason Trail and Great Quest. The selection was in winning form at Southwell before running well to finish fourth of eleven at Warwick last time out off a four pound higher mark. If ridden promentantly this step back in trip should not pose a problem so he the one horse in the race to stay on the right side of. Treason Trail is another with similar form having won on his penultimate start at Nottingham and fairing well when fourth in a big field at the same track off a three pound higher mark. Again he is another with a chance and any market moves should be noted. Great Quest caught the eye last time out when second at Newcastle. He looks a horse just coming to himself so is another to note. But for the winner we return to Trafalgar Day who we feel can get back in the winners circle.

Race Overview: Ishetoo can complete his hat-trick at the expense of Manduarh and Princess Ellis. The selection was in winning form at Ayr and Catterick and on both occassions he was ridden prominately. The last being an apprentice handicap he gets no penalties so in effect he is potentially well in here and if reproducing his latest effort he can win. Manduarh has been consistant on all seven outings this season rarely finishing out of the first three and winning on two occassions. Having said that his mark of sixty seven looks to be his mark and because of his consitant form the handicapper has been reluctant drop him so he might of met his match here. Princess Ellis is more exposed than most but did won at Ayr last month. Having said that she looked to be running up to her best on her latest outing and again the handicapper might have her within his grasp. So for the winner we return to hat-trick seeking Ishetoo.

Race Overview: Mowadeh can land the finale at the expense of Starry Messenger, Pugnacious Lady and Galianna to name but three. There is plenty of interest in this maiden, given the strong southern challenge, and there could well be lots of future winners emerging from it. On this occasion we shall rely on Mowadeh who has been going the right way, and who has the edge over some of his rivals from an experience point of view. Mick Channon's gelding, third at Thirsk last time, now qualifies for handicaps, so it is interesting that he tackles another maiden instead. Starry Messenger has not been seen since last September, and steps up to a trip more in keeping with her breeding. She might be best watched on her return though, while Pugnacious Lady kept on well on her Salisbury bow and has been well entered up this week. Galianna is going the right way and is another to watch out for in handicaps, and the market will reveal if any of tonight's other challengers is fancied. A wide-open contest can go to Mowadeh.
