Race Overview: Yeats can land the Gold Cup for a second time; Sergeant Cecil and Geordieland look the most likely dangers. The selection had a warm-up for this race in Ireland at the end of last month and he should be spot-on today. There is no doubt that if he is at his best he will take the world of beating and there is nothing to suggest that will not be the case. Sergeant Cecil is closely-matched with Geordieland from their run at York last month when the pair were left to fight out a thrilling finish. Sergeant Cecil prevailed that day and he seems to be getting better with age. He was well beaten by Yeats in this race last year but he did not get a clear run that day and he is a better horse now than he was 12 months ago. Geordieland clearly has the ability to get competitive here, but he is not the most straightforward and he has yet to win a race in Britain. Any easing in the ground would work in his favour but his best hope is probably of collecting some place money. Montare is unproven over this trip so is probably best watched, and we will stick with Yeats who stands out once again as the one to beat.
